KM III static kernmantle rope is designed to meet the highly rigorous requirements associated with rescue, caving and rappelling operations. Meeting or exceeding 1983 NFPA standards for rescue ropes, KM III is a balanced construction consisting of a continuous filament polyester cover braided over a continuous filament nylon core. This hybrid construction, unique to New England Ropes, produces a rope with high tensile strength (the nylon core), low elongation (the polyester cover), and excellent heat, chemical and abrasion resistance (the polyester cover). No other static rope has these features. The torque-balanced design of KM III eliminates the spin typically induced in ropes during rappelling operations.
KM III is available in different sizes to meet the load requirements of various applications. In addition to white with black, blue, orange, or red strikers, we offer KM III in blue, orange and red with strikers and solid black. KM III is also available with a specially-formulated urethane coating that provides additional abrasion resistance and/or color coding for multiple rope operations. Elongation for all KM III static diameters at 450 lbs.(204kg) is 2%, and at 900 lbs.(408kg) is 3%.

MAXIM is our premier UIAA-certified dynamic kernmantle rope. This 100% nylon product is designed to absorb the impact loads associated with a potential fall situation without transmitting dangerously high forces to the climber or equipment. The construction features unique stranded continuous core yarns of perlon nylon fiber contained within a tightly braided, highly abrasion resistant nylon cover. MAXIM is extremely flexible and torque-balanced to produce a construction that is free-running, knots well and handles easily in all situations while providing the fall protection and abrasion resistance required in climbing applications. MAXIM is available with either a regular or “dry” finish. The “dry” finish is a specially formulated water repellent/lubricant that is designed to improve the service life of the rope by increasing the surface abrasion resistance and retarding the rate of moisture absorption. MAXIM is also available in a “single” or “double” rope size. The choice of rope size is dependent upon the climber’s preference of climbing technique.

For many years, New England Ropes has been producing a line of Accessory Cords for use with mountain climbing ropes. Designed for use under extremely rugged conditions. Flexible and easily knotted, these special purpose, brightly colored and torque-free cords are high strength nylon kernmantle constructions that exhibit excellent wear characteristics under all conditions. Unlike general purpose 3-strand polypropylene, the Accessory Cords will not break down over time due to exposure to sunlight, or stiffen when the weather turns cold. Accessory Cords are ideally suited for tying off equipment, replacing lanyards on pole-mounted tools or as safety lanyards on hand tools. Accessory Cords are available in sizes ranging from 4mm-8mm and are color coded by size. Not intended as a climbing, rappelling or rescue rope.

Multiline II is a 3-strand rope that out-performs all others as a long-wearing, easy to handle line. Multiline II is a composite fiber rope with polyester yarns securely wrapped around a core of polypropylene in each strand. The surface of each strand is slightly textured to improve handling characteristics. This construction produces a rope with low elongation, excellent flexibility and superior rendering capabilities. In addition, the design maximizes the strength to weight ratio, permitting higher working loads or increased safety factors without the penalty of increased weight. Identified by two orange markers on the surface of one strand.

The braided climbing rope of choice for Arborists across the country is Braided Safety Blue. Braided Safety Blue combines a 16-strand design of tightly plied polyester covered polypropylene with a parallel core of blue nylon yarn to produce a superior rope that remains flexible, yet firm and round under load, unlike competitive braided climbing ropes. The use of a 16-strand design produces a smoother, more abrasion-resistant surface than conventional 12-strand designs. This tough, durable surface is treated with a protective finish that further minimizes abrasion and snagging while greatly improving performance and service life. The braided construction eliminates rotation under load and prevents back-turning or hockling. Durable, easy to handle and designed to work in the demanding environment of arborist operations.
